House Tour (Connecticut)

Hello!

Stained Front Door

I am so happy you are here. We have moved from this house but it’s where I started doing a lot of DIY and decorating.
Our kids were little at this home so it holds a lot of memories for my family and I.
The floors in our foyer were stained in a checkerboard pattern. I wrote a blog post on how I did that HERE.
For my design business in Connecticut I made over kitchen islands. You can view a few in THIS post.
I actually made this island way before I started sharing here on the blog so I don’t have a tutorial for that but if you want to see another way to make a creative island out of a cabinet go HERE.
So many have asked about that coffee mug holder. I no longer use it but I have it. I found it at a tag sale many years ago.

Our basement door was picked up at a thrift shop. It was actually laying on the ground outside and I asked if I could buy it. I basically stole it for $10. I love doors and you can view more HERE.

Fences are another thing I find that are fun to create with. See where this one ended up in THIS post.

After switching my blog from blogger to wordpress I lost so many photos and my home tours are still under repair.

More to come.

Hi Holly, I love your style! I live in Virginia too and would love to visit your shop space. Is it in an Antique Mall anywhere near Washington D.C? If you would rather not disclose the location, I understand but I see some things that would go very nicely in my house! Lin in Nothern Virginia

Hi Holly! I've been getting your posts now for a few years, and I love your design style. I know it sounds like your trying to find your way in your new town now, but the Most important thing is that your family is by your side. You can make any place a home, that's pretty obvious from your post. Hang in there, you will soar and fly! All the best to you. Carole from Canada
