A Spool Table and a Winner!

My neighbor brought home a few old spools and pallets for me the other day.

It felt like Christmas!
Now one of the spools is an end table in my family room.
Did you grow up with these as end tables? I did! We used to walk on them turned side ways around the backyard when we were little. My Dad has been a recycler, junker and gardener since before any of it was even trendy….
That’s my Dad right there!
The table has markings on it that I love. The nuts and bolts are all rusty too.
It fits the rustic style of our family room.
Now for the winner of this cute sign made by On The Avenue!
If your name is Jo and you left a message for Mandy, YOU are our lucky winner!!!
Congratulations Jo!

  2. We used those spools as tables back in the '70s! I love it – what goes around, comes around. :)Rita C at Panoply

  3. I laughed when I saw the title of your post…my husband started a new job and there are wood spools that he is trying to get rid of. I told him I want one for a patio table and he gave me a funny look. lol! I knew I wasn't crazy!

  7. Congrats Jo! Love the table and I really love all the dings and the fact that the nails are rusty. We never had one of those but our neighbors did and I thought it was cool when I was a kid.Cynthia

  8. Holly, I think back when we had those spool tables hanging around our house, and all the fun you kids had with them. I wish now that I had hung onto a couple for the patio as they would make great conversation tables. You could even put an umbrella down the center to create place for a light summer snack. I also used them for end tables with a cute table cloth to add a little color to a room. The cord of the lamp down the center makes them even more useful. Thanks for renewing my memories. love ya, mom
