{Vintage, Rustic Master Bedroom}

This is my bedroom that I share with my sweet husband…

our wedding anniversary date is painted on burlap and pinned to a body pillow.
I painted the date with fabric paint and used safety pins to attach it to the pillowcase.
The headboard is our old basement door from our previous house.
I added a shelf above with a bracket set I found on clearance at Target for $4.98.
Two 1×4 slats of pine are the shelf platform.
A burlap knot cloth over my night stand makes it so I can dust a little less often.
I topped it with a favorite picture of our little twin boys.
The large window is flanked with old french doors – a tag sale find.
The draperies were here when we moved in –
I just added floor length panels on each end.
The old trunk was purchased at an antiques shop in Atlanta, GA about 12 years ago.

I love your room, Holly! It keeps with your theme of down to earth…all of the rustic pieces and burlap, French doors. With a little romance and femininity thrown in with the sheer curtains. What a perfect balance! I love it all and the pillow is so cool! Well done! :)XO,Jane

I love it! It's full of charm and vintage style. I love the huge trunk at the foot of the bed. Your pillow idea is adorable! I'll have to remember that if I'm looking for something creative. That's a craft I could actually do! ha!

LOVELY and SERENE! This made me smile, for I am in the process of re-decorating my bedroom. I have a mantle headboard(painted, rustic)and an ANTIQUE MIRROR almost identical to yours, to go over the mantle! Seems our decor is on the same page!! I do LOVE the burlap dated pillows and the antique windows around your bedroom window treatments..beautiful! Very, very warm and cozy look! Roxie

Thank you for your very nice comment, and so nice you want to follow my blog. Such a nice and cosy bedroom, love the door and the pillow. You have inspired me with burlap beore, I set the table for my 50th birthday with burlap as table cloth, all in a very Down to earth style. Glad Sandy did not do to much harm your place. Have a nice weekend. Greetings from Norway
